Remember when a camera like this was considered “hot.” Yeah, I know the only purpose it serves today, is to “put it on eBay and sell it.” Folks, this camera had many people running to stores, excited, because they finally had a way to capture their love ones on film in a new and colorful way. Even today, people are constantly searching for that perfect camera, to hold on to, to create memories that will last a lifetime. There is no limit of possibilities, when you talk about the power of picture taking. If you are a large person (plus size, and proud of it) you wish there was a camera that would make you look slim. (Don't worry, it's bound to come. If not for us older adults, perhaps, with our children's children) Hey, I have another idea, what about a camera that could show uncle Joe in the picture, who is 5ft 4inches, standing in back on aunt Mary who is 5ft and 7inches. (Well, maybe not)
Because there are so many choices of cameras to buy, I understand the importance of taking your time to look at the many cameras on the market today. One line of cameras in particular to consider is the Sony line. You might be wondering why I suggested Sony when there are so many more brand name cameras around. The answer is simple, Sony has been around for quite some time, and if you are like me, the purchases I make are investments. Long gone are the days when I would just buy a product without looking at the whole package, including how long the company has been around. (Hey, I want to make sure I can reach them if I have a problem or need a replacement) Sony not only has endured the test of time, but manages to keep up-to-date with my modern day needs and wants. Sony is just one of many other companies that I have made purchases from throughout the years. Rest assured there are other great companies as well. Please feel free to look further down and see the many wonderful selections of cameras that Sony has to offer. I like Sony's products, always have, but I believe it's important to get more than one person perspective (mainly myself) of a product, so I did my research to share with you what the experts (people who purchased the items) said in their reviews. Enjoy!
As promise, here are wonderful cameras to review and purchase at great prices:
Sony Cybershot DSCS730 7.2MP Digital Camera with 3x Optical Zoom
By J3fer (Pros)
This is our latest in a loong series of digital cameras. The last two have been Nikons that I thought were pretty decent, but it turns out I've been missing a LOT. This Sony is a good size (I have small hands, though), with a bit of weight to it that convinces me it's more solidly made than some others out there. Our Nikons died because the LCD screens cracked under very little pressure - this one feels a bit more substantial, though I still won't be tossing it around. But the best part about this camera is that it takes great pictures, right out of the box. The included AA batteries don't last long, but once we switched to rechargeables, there has been no issue. And choosing a camera that uses standard size-and-shape batteries was VERY important, since we do sometimes need to buy & use AA's when we're on the go.

If you are looking for a good, basic digital camera, this one is great. It's got enough features to do everything you want from a personal use camera (not professional level). I bought this camera for my mother. I bought myself the Cannon SureShot, because I got lured in by the extra features. After they both came in and I used my mom's camera, I wished I had bought the Sony instead of the Cannon. This camera is easy to use. The dials/menus are easy to use. Just a few minutes of "playing around with it" is enough to figure out the basic functions. A good solid camera. Nice pictures.

I bought this product for Mother's Day 'cause she's tired of using the AA batteries on her old camera and the description of this camera says that it uses a rechargeable lithium ion battery. This is not true. This camera uses 2 AA batteries. I was forced to return and very disapointed at the inaccurate information.
Sony Cybershot DSCW120/B 7.2MP Digital Camera with 4x Optical Zoom with Super Steady Shot (Black)

Very good all-around point and shoot, April 22, 2008
My wife and I recently upgraded from our Sony DSC-P8 to a Sony DSC-W130. So far we are extremely happy. We shopped around quite a bit before settling on the new cybershot, and spent a good deal of time trying out other brands. In the end, the Smile Shutter brought us back to Sony. It sounds like there is no way it would work, but it really does. We have two young children that are remarkably hard to catch smiling. With the new Sony, all we have to do is turn on the smile shutter and the camera does the rest. So far, we haven't missed a smile with the 3 year (with teeth) and have caught a few of the 4 month old (no teeth). It makes a difference. The other feature that has been great so far is the burst mode. With my old camera, the missing time between shot resulted in a lot of blurring. The new camera manages to focus each shot much better. We played around with some moving targets, and the pictures came out great. One major drawback of burst mode, however, is that you can't use flash. I took a bunch of pictures indoors and the quality was ok, but not great. The flash just turns off when you switch to burst mode.
